Otters are built for water with those long, sleek bodies and webbed feet that make them natural swimmers. You'll find them in waterways across most of the world, except Australia and Antarctica. They're famous for floating about on their backs, which they can do because their thick fur traps air and keeps them buoyant. It's worth knowing that this same fur has made them targets for hunting, and they've been pushed to the brink of extinction in quite a few places.
