Killer whales are chatty creatures, much like their dolphin relatives. They talk to each other using clicks and whistles through echolocation. You'll notice they're noisiest when they're hunting, but quieter and calmer when they're resting. Different activities mean different sounds, so there's quite a bit of variety in how they communicate.
