Meet the octopus: eight-armed ocean dweller with a bulbous head and a genuinely odd body plan. They've got three hearts pumping blue blood around, which is properly weird. When things get dicey, they squirt ink to throw predators off the scent. Being completely boneless means they can squeeze through spaces you'd think impossible. They're clever too—properly clever—and have been spotted using tools, which is the sort of thing that makes you wonder what they're really thinking down there.
