Your cat's got better night vision than you could dream of, but actually their daytime sight's pretty much on par with yours. That's why they're built for hunting in the dark—small rodents and birds don't stand a chance when the sun goes down. They'll sleep about 18 hours a day, which sounds like the dream until you realise they're spending their waking hours on the hunt.

Here's the thing though: unlike their wild cousins who'd rather be alone, domestic cats actually crave your attention. They'll happily hang around you and other animals, and some of them even get along with dogs. Bit of a plot twist for something descended from a solitary hunter.
