Black bears are a bit different from your typical carnivore. Their molars aren't built for tearing meat like other meat-eaters' are — instead, they're designed to grind down vegetation. Which is handy, because these enormous animals need to eat almost constantly to fuel themselves on a mostly plant-based diet.

We're talking tens of thousands of nuts and berries in a single day. Since they spend roughly half their waking hours foraging and eating, they're basically munching on something every second they're at it. It's relentless, really.
