What you're getting
Meet the aardvark: a creature built for one job and absolutely brilliant at it. You'll find them in the grasslands and dry places of Africa south of the Sahara, where they've evolved into proper termite-hunting machines.
They're sizeable animals — up to 6 feet long — with a distinctly odd look that somehow works. We're talking donkey-like ears, a long snout, and drooping eyelids with surprisingly long lashes. It's the kind of face that makes you wonder what nature was thinking, and then you realize it's perfectly designed for the job.
By day they're underground in their burrows, sleeping it off. Come nightfall, they're out digging for termites — their absolute favourite. Those massive, flattened claws rip open the nests, and then their long tongue does the rest, sucking up the insects like a biological vacuum cleaner. Efficient doesn't begin to cover it.
